Major Terrorist Attacks In India
Nov.26,2008:Terrorist attack in Mumbai .Five star hotels like Taj and Oberoi attacked .CST railway station also attacked.At least 190 were killed and 230 injured Oct. 30, 2008: At least 70 were killed and more than 300 injured in 10 blasts in the northeastern state of Assam. Sept. 13, 2008: Seven explosions killed 18 and injured more than 90 others in the capital New Delhi. July 26, 2008: Some 16 small bombs rocked Ahmedabad in western India's Gujarat state, killing 45. May 13, 2008: Bombs exploded in crowded markets outside Hindu temples in the popular tourist destination of Jaipur, killing at least 60 and injuring more than 150. Nov. 23, 2007: A string of explosions ripped through courthouse complexes in northern India's Lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad cities, killing 16. Aug. 25, 2007: At least 42 people were killed and some 50 others injured in three explosions in the southern city of Hyderabad. Feb. 19, 2007: An express train heading from India to Pakistan was torn apart by two bombs in Haryana state, sparking a fire that killed 66 and seriously injured more than 20. July 11, 2006, Mumbai: At least 135 dead in serial blasts in suburban trains at during rush hour in the evening. July 11, 2006, Srinagar: At least eight people, including tourists and pilgrims, killed in five hand grenade attacks. May 25, 2006, Srinagar: Four tourists died in a powerful explosion at Batpora. May 21, 2006, Srinagar: Seven people including two guerrillas killed as militants attack a Congress party rally, three days ahead of the prime minister's visit for the second Kashmir roundtable. March 7, 2006, Varanasi: Triple bombings kill 23 people and injure 68 others at an ancient temple and crowded railway station. Dec 28, 2005, Bangalore: One retired professor was killed in an attack on the Indian Institute of Science. Oct 29, 2005, New Delhi: Three blasts in the capital ahead of Hindu festival of Diwali kill 65 people and wound 210 more. Aug 15, 2004, Assam: Three bomb explosions across the state, killing 16 people, mostly school children, in Dhemaji district. Aug 25, 2003, Mumbai: serial blasts kill about 60. May 14, 2003, Jammu: Militants attack an army camp near Jammu, killing more than 30, including women and children. Sep 24, 2002, Gandhinagar: Two terrorists attack the Akhsardham temple, killing 39 visitors. Dec 13, 2001, New Delhi: Terrorists attack Indian parliament, killing 12 people including six policemen. All five terrorists were also killed. Oct 1, 2001, Srinagar: Militants attack Jammu-Kashmir assembly complex, killing about 35. Most of these terrorist attacks were on the name of religion .But religion does not preach violence .These are activities of some religious fanatists.We can hope for a world without terrorism and terrorists
